The Pangaea Film Festival is an annual celebration that brings together filmmakers, storytellers, and film enthusiasts from around the world. It was started in 2012 under the name (DIIFF) by the same dedicated team. Since its inception, the festival has collaborated with esteemed institutions such as the Oxford Documentary Film Institute, Jawaharlal Nehru University, the European Union, Anthropos India Foundation, Joker Theatre Group, and the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts.
Pangaea is dedicated to recognizing and honoring creative talent, providing an inclusive platform where diverse voices can be heard and celebrated. Over the years, the festival has grown significantly, and we are now excited to present it on a grand scale. Our event culminates in an annual awards ceremony on February 20, 2025, where the best in global cinema will be awarded for their exceptional contributions. Join us in this celebration of storytelling and creativity as we showcase the vibrant and diverse narratives that shape our world.
Our Vision
The Pangaea Film Festival is deeply committed to showcasing the art of cinema in its many forms, emphasizing the rich diversity of storytelling that transcends borders and cultures. Our mission is to foster cross-cultural understanding and dialogue by providing a platform where filmmakers from various backgrounds can share their unique narratives.
We believe that cinema is a powerful medium that can bridge gaps, challenge perceptions, and inspire empathy among audiences. By highlighting films that reflect a wide range of experiences, we aim to amplify underrepresented voices and perspectives that are often overlooked in mainstream media. This commitment to inclusivity is at the heart of our festival, as we strive to create an environment where every filmmaker feels empowered to express their vision and contribute to the global conversation.
In addition to film screenings, Pangaea Film Festival offers various programs, workshops, and panels that encourage collaboration and knowledge exchange among artists, scholars, and film enthusiasts. These initiatives not only enrich the festival experience but also help to cultivate a deeper appreciation for the transformative power of film as an art form.
Through our efforts, we seek to engage a global audience, inviting them to experience the vibrancy of different cultures and the complexities of the human experience. By sharing these narratives, we hope to inspire audiences to reflect on their own lives and the world around them, fostering a sense of connection and understanding in an increasingly divided society.
At Pangaea, we celebrate the essence of storytelling, recognizing that every film has the potential to spark conversation, challenge norms, and ultimately contribute to a more inclusive and compassionate world.
